Supporting a Family Means More Than Organising Treatment

Supporting a Family Means More Than Organising Treatment

When a child needs complex medical treatment, parents are suddenly faced with many questions at once. Where can they obtain another medical opinion? Which specialists should they contact? How can treatment in another country be organised? And one of the most difficult questions of all: where can they find the funds needed for expensive medical care?

This is why MCI takes a comprehensive approach.

Anna Kuzmina, Head of Strategic Partnerships at MCI, met with Nikita Lomov, Deputy Director of the Save Me! Charitable Foundation.

The main focus of the meeting was cooperation in supporting families whose children require complex treatment, including treatment in Spain.

MCI helps families find the right specialists, organise treatment and receive support throughout every stage of the process. But we also understand that finding a medical solution is not enough if a family cannot afford to access it.

That is why another important area of our work is building relationships with charitable foundations and helping families organise fundraising for treatment.

We meet with foundations, establish working partnerships and bring different resources together so that, in a difficult situation, a family can receive not just one individual service, but meaningful support across several areas at once.

For MCI, partnerships like these are part of a broader, systematic approach. We want the journey from identifying a possible treatment option to organising and funding that treatment to become clearer and more manageable for parents.

Our role is not simply to identify medical opportunities. Our role is to help families do everything possible to make use of those opportunities.
